What did you do this past week?

Throughout this past week, I took the time to start on Phase 4 of the IDB project with my team. I also met up with another project team for another class as well. As the Longhorn Run is on Saturday, I spent a lot of time training for the run as well.

What’s in your way?

There is not much in my way but I have definitely tried to ensure that I was able to train for the Longhorn Run during each day this past week. My 10k run is definitely an experience that I am looking forward to as I thoroughly enjoy running. The weather is also amazing outside!

What will you do next week?

I am looking forward to spending more time on phase 4 of the IDB project with my team. I also am excited to spend time with some friends throughout the week. As there are many events and activities occurring around campus, I look forward to attending those as well.

What did you think of Paper #13: What Happens to Us Does Not Happen to Most of You?

I definitely though that this week’s paper addressed an extremely important topic in the technology industry. Issues like these definitely need to be talked about more as they affect many people in the industry. If we are able to address and correct such issues, the industry would become a much more inclusive, welcoming, and safe environment overall.

What was your experience of subqueries and refactoring?

As I have previously worked in SQL before, the concept of subqueries was not too unfamiliar to me. I have also definitely taken the time to refactor my designs in my previous projects as well. Overall, the concepts that were covered in the lectures this past week were extremely interesting and useful.

What made you happy this week?

I was really happy to be able to finish a lot of work for my classes throughout this past week. The feeling of getting ahead in my classes is absolutely amazing. I look forward to being able to stay ahead in my classes overall.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

For developers who are interested in keeping their files organized at all times, I highly recommend frequently putting files into specific directories. This way all files can easily be located at all times on the computer. This will also help with knowing which files are necessary to keep when cleaning out files on the computer.
