What did you do this past week?

Throughout this past week, I took the time to try to get ahead on all of my assignments in order to prepare for the upcoming spring break. I also spent a lot of time working with my project group for the IDB project. As I had an exam during this past week, I also took the time to study as well.

What’s in your way?

As there are a lot of weather changes lately, the weather is a bit different each day. Though the weather has been inconsistent, I think that it makes each day a bit more unique and interesting. I definitely always try to check the weather every day!

What will you do next week?

Next week will be spring break so I will be looking forward to going to Houston to visit my family. I also am looking forward to seeing my friends back in Houston as well. As I have really missed some of the food from restaurants that are only available in Houston, I will also be making sure that I spend some time enjoying them as well.

What did you think of Paper #8: Interface Segregation Principle?

I really enjoyed reading through the points and examples made throughout the paper this week. I think that the paper really helped me in seeing how useful this principle can be in software development. I look forward to reading more about the SOLID Principles!

What was your experience of comprehensions and yield?

Both the topics of comprehensions and yield were fairly new to me, so I was really happy to be able to learn more about them. I definitely can see how these topics allow for the implementation of solutions with a certain logic. I look forward to utilizing comprehensions and yields in my future projects.

What made you happy this week?

I was really happy to be able to see some of my family this past week! My brother and cousins came to visit me here in Austin, so I am thankful to have been able to spend time with them. I was also able to celebrate a friend’s birthday this past week which was very fun.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

For developers who are constantly working in a collaborative environment and needing to join virtual team meetings or calls, I highly recommend having a pair of headphones on hand. This will allow the developer to easily join virtual meetings or calls while on the go without having to worry about sounds from the computer distracting others present in the area. For developers who work better with music playing in the background, a pair of headphones can help with that as well.
