What did you do this past week?

Throughout this past week, I spent a lot of time meeting up with my project team for the IDB project to work on the third phase. I was also able to spend some time with friends that I had not seen in a while. As I have an exam coming up, I was also sure to study for that.

What’s in your way?

Everything is currently going really well for me as of now. I do really miss going kayaking, but I am looking forward to being able to go kayaking again with friends some time soon. I definitely want to be able to enjoy the weather here in Austin right now as it feels amazing!

What will you do next week?

Throughout next week, I am looking forward to continuing to make progress on the IDB project with my team. I also look forward to spending more time on studying for my upcoming exam. As the date for the Longhorn Run is approaching, I will also be training to prepare for my 10K run!

What did you think of Paper #11: More getters and setters?

I really enjoyed reading more about getters and setters through this week’s paper. I think that it was really helpful for understanding to see more examples shown in this week’s paper. I am definitely interested in reading more papers on object oriented designs overall.

What was your experience of select, project, and cross join?

Though I do have some experience with SQL, I was not too familiar with the implementation of select, project, and cross join in python. I definitely found it interesting to be able to implement these functions in python myself. I think that this will lead to a very smooth transition into the SQL lectures next week.

What made you happy this week?

I was really happy to have been able to make a lot of delicious meals at home this past week. I have recently been getting into trying out new recipes, and I have really enjoyed being able to expand on my cooking skills. I definitely look forward to learning more recipes in the future!

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

When working through a long continuous session in the development process, the wrists and arms of a developer may begin to get tired. With the use of a wrist rest, developers are able to comfortably lay their wrists on a soft cushion. This will allow for an extremely comfortable and effective programming experience overall.
